Wedding Makeup 101: Touch up Kits

Your big day is almost here! Everything for your wedding is ready to go. The location, the food, the music, the dresses, the tuxes, even where you are seating your embarrassing Uncle Joe. Everything is just about perfect. You’ve also had your hair and makeup trail and it turned out better than you imagined. You think you are all set. But, are you?

Picture this. You’ve said your “I Do’s” and now it’s time to let loose and let the real party begin. You may have rented a limo or party bus with your hyped-up bridal party who is on their way to get photos taken. You’re happy, you’re married, and all is right with the world, until you ask for a mirror to check your lipstick. Then you realize you’ve forgot one thing…your touch up kit. After kissing your hunky groom and sipping champagne in the limo, no more lipstick. It’s also very warm outside and you’ve been moving around, hugging family and friends, and you could use a little powder on your nose. Alas, no touch up kit. It’s something you thought you’d be fine without, even though your professional makeup artist suggested you should. Now, everything is ruined. You might as well go home and call it a day. Okay, Okay, it’s not that dramatic, and your makeup isn’t ruined, but it’s the little things that count, right?

“When remembering your wedding day, the one thing you do when reminiscing is to look back on your photos, so making sure your makeup is on point and freshened up should be a priority.”

So, why is it important to have a touch up kit, you ask? Like the scenario I comically noted, touch up kits come in handy for all brides. Especially, if you have combination to oily skin. For those of you who have oily skin, you know that even on cold days you still have to combat oil. Adding a touch of powder will be your remedy when you are dancing on the floor with all your loved ones. Even though we pride ourselves on the longevity of our makeup, things get toasty while you’re moving around on the dance floor and makeup is usually the first to feel the effects. Also, we know that even though you’ll be busy greeting and thanking all your guest, you’ll still have time to eat and drink. Not to mention, you may have a playful groom who may find it funny to smash a piece of cake on your perfect makeup during the cake cutting. So, having that lipstick and powder will be a must, because those photographers don’t stop until you do. Most importantly, When remembering your wedding day, the one thing you do when reminiscing is to look back on the photos, so making sure your makeup is on point and freshened up should be a priority on your list.
